Finals Matches will be played between top 2 players of each division.

Competition Rules:

  1. ELIGIBILITY - All players must be under 19 years of age at the commencement of the competition.
  2. RULES OF TENNIS - Competition will follow the Tennis Australia Rules, Code of Conduct and Etiquette Guidelines.
  3. MATCH PLAY - Each team consists of Individual players. A match consists of either singles or doubles (doubles partners will be chosen at random by the Competition Coordinator).
  4. COMMENCEMENT OF PLAY - Play is to commence from 9:00 am and different Divisions will commence at different time slot's, check with coordinator. All play should conclude by 1:30 pm. In the event of any match not commencing by the allocated start time, because of inclement weather (if not previously announced by the Competition Coordinator) the match will be declared abandoned (or washed out) and no points allocated.
  5. CONTINUITY OF PLAY - Play shall be continuous throughout the morning and no interval is permissible, except in the case of inclement weather. 
  6. FORMAT OF PLAY - Singles matches will be varied game sets. Doubles will be determined by the Competition Coordinator.
  7. TOSSING - The choice of ends and the right to be Server, or Receiver in each game shall be decided by toss. The Captain winning the toss may choose (or, require his/her opponent to choose):a)   The right to be Server, or Receiver (in which case the other player shall choose the end), OR b)   The end (in which case the other player shall choose the right to be Server, or Receiver.
  8. UMPIRING RESPONSIBILITIES - All matches will either be umpired by other competition players to learn the skills of scoring, by the Competition Coordinator or by assisting supervisors.
  9. POINTS - Points will be awarded for each game won, each week of the competition. This will include shared points in the Doubles Event Rounds.
  10. FINALS - No Semi-Finals are played as part of this competition. Finals will be played on a single court per division, scheduled for the final round of competition each term.
  11. WET WEATHER - If play is doubtful, players must go to the court prepared to play. HOWEVER, each court manager/ owner will decide whether play is possible on the court(s). 
  12. SUBSTITUTE PLAYERS - Any player unable to play for any reason, should contact the Competition Coordinator to advise. Alternate matches or substitute/reserve players may be played for continuity of the competition. 
  13. RESULTS - All points will be recorded on the result card each match. These must be provided to the Competition Coordinator at the conclusion of each week. All results will be displayed on the CBTA website to allow players and parents/guardians to follow participants progress throughout the term of competition.   14. The interpretation of these Competition Rules shall devolve upon the Competition Coordinator and CBTA Junior Competition Sub-Committee which shall have the power to adjudicate upon any matters not specifically covered by these Rules.
