Canterbury Bankstown tennis Association - a century of achievement, 1920 - 2020
CENTENARY DINNER event - Bankstown Sports Club - POSTPONED TO 2021

Picture
To all Canterbury Bankstown Tennis Association – players, ex-players and friends.
Well, 2020 is the year we would all like to forget, isn’t it? Bushfires, floods and now this dreadful pandemic which is with us now and dominates our lives.
The committee and I hope that everyone is well and being as careful as we can.
Take care. Stay safe. It seems to be the catch cry of the day.
We had organised our Centenary Celebration at Bankstown Sports Club and were hoping it would be in November 2020.
As you know there are restrictions on numbers, travelling and many other things so we are postponing the proposed celebrations due to this COVID-19 pandemic.
At this stage we have not decided on another date, particularly with the outbreak currently even in our area.
We were thinking perhaps around March 2021 but nothing can be confirmed yet as the Bankstown Sports Club is still in the early stages of opening up and numbers attending events are definitely restricted.
It would not be good to pick a date and start selling tickets and have to change it or limit the numbers.
We’ll put it on the website and send out emails as soon as we can be a bit more certain.
regards Adele English General Secretary and Roger Pitt, President for the Committee
Tennis has changed enormously over the 100 year period, facing many challenges, as have the people who play the game within the Association's boundaries. Community members have embraced new or alternate sports in the community and tennis has taken on new forms, shorter time frames and varied timeslots. Today, we now look at catering for the current and future lifestyles people now lead and officials will market the game in a new and challenging way!

To celebrate this achievement, Canterbury Bankstown Tennis Association will be hosting a Centenary Dinner event!
