Competition Rules
1. Heat Rule Applicable at Indexed 33° C.
2. A player may be borrowed by any team ANY number of times without that player forfeiting their registration with the original team.
3. Where players in semi - finals and finals cannot be available in an unfinished match (weather or other conditions causing a started match not to be completed on the day) then the team needing a player shall make application to the Competition Committee to play another qualified team member to take the place of the unavailable player. In the event that a qualified team member is not available, a Pool Player can play after written permission from the Committee is obtained. The Pool Player shall be of similar ability to the player being replaced.
4. Please fill in score cards correctly and legibly. Full names of all players (at least once then first names are OK thereafter. Also details of new players and pool players must be provided on back of result card. Additional players registered in your team need to be accepted by the committee, so past performance information is essential.
5. Teams are required to enter the court at 9.30am, have a 5 minute hit-up and then commence the match. If two ladies are present from a team they must commence the first set even if they are not the intended pairing. If a team does not have a pair on the court by 9.35am then the late team shall forfeit the hit up time in the first set. If a team does not have a pair on the court by 9.45am then the late team shall forfeit the first set. At further intervals of 5 minutes subsequent sets shall be deemed to have been lost, until 35 minutes after the nominated starting time, when the match shall be deemed lost by forfeit.
6. Play must cease at 3.15pm during the rounds. The game in progress is completed and then all play ceases. In Semi Finals and Finals play shall continue until a result is obtained.
7. The time for the finish of one set and the commencement of the next set shall not be more than 2 minutes. A team not having a pair on the court ready to commence the set at the end of 2 minutes will be deemed to have forfeited the set, provided that the team claiming the forfeit has given at least 30 seconds warning of its intention to claim the set.
8. There are to be no hit ups before the commencement of any set where each of the players involved have played at least one set previously.
9. COURT USE BY ASSOCIATION IN SEMI FINALS AND FINALS
Teams participating in semi-finals and finals must make their court available until the completion of the finals unless previous arrangements have been confirmed in writing with the court owner and the committee.
