Congratulations to Salim Hijazi, a hard working member of CBTA through the Juniors and particularly through membership promotions.  Salim was nominated by CBTA for an award recently, Banks Volunteer Awards, presented by David Coleman MP and Malcolm Turnbull.  A great night was attended by many worthwhile volunteers and Salim was one of them.  Previously, the Award was won by Doug Freeman, our Junior Competition Secretary.  photo hereGroup photo here

Hakki Kazan, coach at SMith Park, who competed at Cessnock recentlly, winning the 35+ division  GO CHAMP!!!
Simon Albrecht, captain and no 1 player of UTS in the Eastern Uni games team.  Simon won his singles 8-6 in the finals, to get the gold medal  PHOTO HERE  He also featured in an article in the Torch July 29

Saturday Morning Junior finals were on Saturday 20 June at Panania.  We were delighted to get a visit

Congratulations also to some of our better juniors who've challenged themselves with the Mid Western competition.  Runs on Saturday mornings - playing best out of 3 singles.  Winners photo for 1A - Beau Challenor, Jesse Mesa and Matt Nimmett.
CBTA's latest big project, HOT SHOTS tennis courts, is now complete, at a cost of over $105,000.  Built behind courts 1 and 2 Panania Tennis Centre and the Pro Shop, we were lucky enough to have the land donated by Panania Diggers Club.  The Club have also helped this wonderful children's project with land clearing and many other things.  Thanks to two Grants from Community Building Partnership Scheme (State Government, endorsed by Glenn Brookes MP), the CBTA could start this project and it finished before Xmas (Dec 23). Grand opening was on Saturday 14 February 2015, at 10am.  PHOTOS OF THE PROGRESS AND THE OPENING HERE NOW. Ring Steve or Caroline at the Centre 04413 656085 to have a go on these marvellouse new little courts - bring the kids/grandkids and try them out!

GOOD NEWS:  Mens Autumn Badge commenced 21 March and there's a team in the Premier League playing for Canterbury out of Moxon Road Courts.  The team, captained by Matt Steel, have performed very well in past years in this elite division.  Good win in week 1 - go guys!!!!Follow them here with this link.

  There have been changes to the Tennis NSW membership costs which CBTA are passing onto their members.  You can now join for as little as $10 if you are a regular player.    For this you will receive a CBTA card, entitling you to discount court hire and services at our 5 centres.    If you are just a social or community member who doesn't play very often, you may not need a discount card - join up at our 5 centres for FREE anyhow and be a part of our great club!
